Corporate Social Responsibility

The Agricultural sector in India contributes to the GDP in a big way. Statics reveal that the share of agriculture in GDP is 18%, and nearly 50% of the total workforce is employed in the Indian agriculture sector. There is no denying the reality that Indian farmers are the nation’s pride. Our country is making progress because of these farmers. India, the largest producer of wheat, rice, pulses, and spices, has abundant scope for growth in the agricultural sector. Farmers have played a crucial role in making our country self-reliant in food grains, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products. We should not hesitate to call them our real ‘Annadatha’.

Unfortunately, despite their huge contribution to the Indian economy, the farming community has been neglected for decades in our country. They are constantly being subjected to harassment, nonpayment, or lower payment of crops and other yields, resulting in financial losses and living under the burden of huge debts. They do not have enough money to meet their family’s everyday requirements. They are unable to afford proper clothes, education for their children and still live in houses made of mud. Facing extreme financial crisis, leads them to suffer from depression which then can result in committing suicide.

About 70 to 75% of our population resides in villages and most of them are farmers. Many villages still don’t have proper facilities like water supply, electricity, and availability of resources like raw materials, technical support, etc. But, apart from all difficulties, still they continue to work hard to produce agricultural goods for us, for the whole nation.

“Spices & Millets Group” (SAMG) are fully committed to the welfare of these farmers. Our main CSR activities will be more focused on the betterment of farmers & their families.

Identifying villages where farmers are facing challenges due to natural calamities and providing them the required support to overcome the situation.

Bringing awareness among farmers and educating them about the better quality raw materials, new technologies, and methods of farming available in agricultural industries.

Connecting farmers from rural and backward areas to various agricultural, cooperative, Gramin societies from where loans, growing seeds, and other raw materials can be made available.

Providing educational support and facility to the children of these farmers.

Not just the government, but every citizen of our country is responsible to improve the condition and respect the work of a farmer. On this note, we, the whole team of Spices & Millets Group, want to say ‘Thank You’ to every respected farmer who works hard every day to grow food for us to meet our daily requirements.
